Under certain rare circumstances using the horn could cause a short circuit that would, in turn, cause an electronic part called a converter box to disconnect from the car's power supply, a VW spokeswoman said.

The converter box supplies power to various components, including the headlights, wipers and the engine controller. Cutting off power to the engine controller shuts off the car's engine.

NICE JOB, VEEDUB. The new Jetta is awful.

VW has announced their quest for Vorld domination. What will they need to do to get you to consider them again?

Yeah, my friend just got one. It's just like a glorified Golf to me. Kinda like the Neon/SRT-4. I know they made it AWD and all, but it's still just...... meh.

ROFL. VWs are rolling piles of crap. I had a MKIV Jetta and it cost me more to keep it running over the 2 1/2 yrs I owned it than the actual car payments did.

The only worthwhile car VW has built in the last 20 years shouldn't have been a VW.

The R32 was meh... way overpriced, and in later years you couldn't even get it with a manual trans.

VW needs to get their quality up, and their douchebag down before I'd consider buying one.

I drove an early R32 (manual trans). I liked it. The Recaro seats were nice. As far as owning one, no.
