unorthodox stereo replacement

I have a 91 240sx and i replaced the stock tape deck with a tape deck from a 97 integra. Odd, I know, but I got it for free along with a Alpine 6 disc cd changer from my cousin, the tape deck has factory controls for the cd changer and my problem is that the cd changer sounds distorted when I play most cds. My cousin told me that everything worked fine when he took it out, so Im wondering why it doesnt work in my car. I can play a tape for a while, and then try a cd and it will play semi-alright for about a minute and then go back to distorted, also, when Im listening to cd's that do work, namely Joy Division and Simon and Garfunkel, in between tracks I can hear a buzzing that coincides with my car accelerating, it will get louder when I step on the gas and quieter when idling. Could it just be interference? The changer is mounted in the trunk, too. Also, I replaced the stock speakers with Infinity speakers and its still distorted. I dont want to get rid of it because I like tapes and cds.

Bad Ground... Your getting alternator whine. Find a better ground.

if you do get a good ground and you still hear it ... they make filters you can put on if it gets to that point
