question has anyone here ever used the whole kit not just the one crank pully, if so did you dyno it to see how much hp your actually gained at the wheels using them, any comments are welcomed...

from what ive seen around the forum, the whole set has about the same hp gain as just the crank pully (maybe just a little more). The real difference is that when you get the whole set, your alternator isnt as strained for power as with just the crank pully. Also i think that the a/c (if you even have one anymore) and the other systems can run close to normal as well. I havnt done this yet, just passing on the info from previous posts...

the import tuner dynoed them and they gave 9.4 hp and 6.2 torque if these numbers arnt exact they are damn close (on a s14 with over 120k miles)

not to shabby

The full UR kit is like 400 bux. Is that really worth it? Would it be an issue with some electric fans? I'd think it would be fine. Actually I'd get the ASP because i'm cheap. But 400 bux is a lot. Damn. Not a lot of power for the money.

Im also really curious how it feels. I just finished reading the article on it in import tuner and it sounded more like a big advertisement than anything (as like all magazine articles....). I would love some real facts. Also the article is here:http://www.importtuner.com/tech/0210it_powerpages/

why the hell i bought the mag to read this article when i can just read it here for free? i have no clue.....

the thing that bothers me about this product is that nissan put large crank pullies there for a reason. The cranks on those ka's are partially counter balanced so the engine is prone to negative harmonics and the large pulley counter acts this. and i suspect the gains are from reducing parasitic loss, but this product could be detrimental to the engine.

Partially? I think you mean half. And this is a theory, nobody has yet to report any damage done by aftermarket pulleys.

There is NO harmonic balancer on the KA crank pulley. There IS a dampener, designed to absorb the impact of the A/C clutch engaging. Removing it only gives you a slight resonance when the A/C is turned off. I've run a UR pulley and Stillen flywheel for over 4 years now with no ill effects.

OK ONE MORE UPDATE ON MY NEW UR PULLYS, WELL OF COURSE MY LUCK IS ALWAYS THIS WAY IT SEEMS, I HAVE GOTTON MY NEW PULLYS AND AS I READ THE BOX IT SAYS THAT THEY ARE FOR A FRICKEN 200SX WHAT THE ****, SO I CALLED THEM UP AND FIND OUT THAT THEY SENT ME THE WRONG PULLYS BUT HEY THEY WERE ONLY OFF ONE NUMBER ON THE PART NUMBER, THATS PRETTY CLOSE HUH, DUMBA**ES, ANYWAYS THEN I FIND OUT THAT THE COMPLETE SYSTEM IS ON BACK ORDER FOR LIKE TWO WEEKS BUT I COULD HAVE JUST THE CRANK PULLY NOW IF I WANTED, I TOLD THEM THAT WAS VERY NICE BUT I WOULD WAIT FOR THE WHOLE KIT TO COME OFF BACK ORDER.. WELL ANYWAYS I HOPE MY LUCK CHANGES CAUSE I HAVE TO TRY TO GET MY CLUTCH INSTALLED THIS WEEKEND.....

Actually tuners like AEBS San Diego have reported breaking the crank snout by removing the stock crank pulley...it does act as a negative harmonics balancer. The reason why we KA owners cant rev past 7200rpm without cracking the block is because of the crank design. I mean i am running a turbo and nitrous and i the more one revs the engine the more power one can extract. My point being that if one is running less than 300bhp and not revving past 6800rpm then if should be ok but this product does more damage than good.....just my two cents

I have seen KA cranks break crank snouts...the KA crank flexes like a rubber band past 6000rpm. On my KA past 6000rpm the car would actually feel slower..i could never figure out why. the reason was, after taking apart the motor, that the crank was actually flexing and grinding up aganist the rod. Once it had sort of "filed" it down the motor spun like crazy. just my two cents
