unlocking the rear hatch with smart key

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Is it just me, or can everyone (at least those with the '10 EX) unlock the rear hatch by simply pressing the hatch release button (the rubber one above the license plate) twice? This isn't causing any problems, but it's just been bugging me for awhile...and I can't seem to find any mention of this in the manual. Thanks!

I have an 08 and dont have to push the button twice, just once and hold it for a second or two.

Actually, I can also open the rear hatch by pressing it for a couple of seconds like you said. What's bugging me is that the manaul says you have to press the silver button once (like the driver and passenger side doors) before you can press the rubber button to open the hatch...yet you can just unlock/open it by pressing only the rubber button. I guess the only "problem" might be that I occasionally like to pull on the handle on the driver/passenger side door just to make sure that the thing is locked...if I tried this on the rear hatch, it would actually unlock it.In any case, it looks like it's not just my car that does that based on your response...thanks.

This is good to know...I always thought you had to push the silver button first.
