This is the best idea I've heard for you Ryan. Buy a low-mileage 92-93Q45a and transfer the stuff you want over. Then sell the Stillen Q with the cage to a guy who wants to use it as a racecar. Then you get best of both worlds, Stillen mods and Q45 luxury. Good call Brian.

That's a helluva idea, but probably not feasable..

I'm going to cut the cage, and take it to someone who can repair the bolted in areas. This is a future project. For now the cage stays until the car is 100% restored, besides the cage. I'm going to compare it to my 94, and see how much stiffer this cage makes things.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to get some pics up, and consolidate everything to one thread.

Hopefully I will be able to scan the automobile mag review of the car soon

Golden cant wait to see you get er done.!!!!!!

It may cost you less to try and find an active suspension that works halfway so you dont have to restore EVERYTHING.

Out of curiousity, are the guides done on this engine?

Wes,

I don't believe so. I have no way of telling... However it only has 31,000 miles so I kind of doubt it

Jeff,

Just noticed your comments, very insightfull... thanks

As far as I'm concerned kryder butchered this beautiful street car for racing purposes.. It is my goal to restore the car to exact condition it was reviewed in at automobile magazine.

I have a bunch of spare parts, including pump/actuators.. I don't forsee the active repair costs being that expensive.. We'll see though. This is a labor of love, and I will do what it takes to restore this Q to the condition stillen built it to.

Have Euro do the guides. No sense in chancing it, as we've seen them go bye-bye as early as 30K miles.

I can't wait to limp my car to euro. They have some highly qualified techs there. I feel confident they will be able to diagnose my suspension issues quickly

Please let me know if you end up with any left over parts. I'm local, and my Q45a sure could use some active suspension hand-me-downs (non-leaking pump/rear actuators)...

Sure. You helped me the compressor, would be glad to return the favor. Once I get this bad boy into euro imports, I am hoping the diagnosis will be quick and not too painfull :)

Sweet. I've used Euro Imports before and they do good work at a great price. Oh, speaking of that compressor -- I found a new expansion valve in the back of my closet. Interested? It's on eBay right now.

The old A/C hoses are around here somewhere...
