i've got a 93 vert. so i did the sleepy eye mod - i cut the brown wire and am in the process of rigging up a switch so i can turn the lights on while i've got the lights half down. anyways... the lights don't go down at the same time. my passenger side light comes down a split second after the driver side light. so when i sleepy eye the lights, the passenger side light is up higher than the driver side. it agravates me to no end to see the lights like that! is there something i can do to make the lights both move at the same time or to adjust them or something? i tried adjusting them with the knobs, but they (the adjuster knobs) just started shaking at me like they were pissed. any help or insight would be appreciated. i can post some pictures if need be.

So wait till one is closed and go winky eye instead! But seriously, aside from new motors or maybe lubricating all your rotational points I don't think theres anything to do about it. My old hatch used to have on light all the way up before the other was halfway lol. O_o

To adjust with the knobs, you'd have to press the headlight-up button on the dash and then adjust with the knobs....otherwise those motors are going to fight you every step of the way.

....unless the wiring is hacked.

there only 2 solutions to this. One involves replacing both motors with new ones, or at least ones you have seen match velocities. The other involves installing stops but then you'll never be able to close them all your way and you might burn the motors out.

thanks... i was hoping it be something simple. i'll look into replacing the motors.

however, i do believe that they go down at the same speed, just not at the same time. should i still have to replace the motors?

--> do they act like theyre having a seizure???mine did that and it was b/c there was something trapped in the headlight so whenever I was closing the headlight there was some resistance and the headlight would try to open but until a certain point and will shut again without closing completley b/c there is something in there and it will go up!!! check on that 2 to see if its the problem!!

The same thing happened to me. A wiring harness had come loose from its snap and was hanging behind the headlight....depending on how it was swinging when I put the headlights down, it could catch and cause all kinds of mess....not going down all the way, seizure-like activity, etc.

Should of added this guy in there.

Just kidding. I am interested to see why you can't adjust it with the knob though. If something is f-ed, I have a spare set.
