Unknown Tuned ECU???

I have a Tuned ECU on my Redtop that came with my front clip and i dont know exactly what its been tuned for. I absolutly know that it has aggressive timing maps, 8100rpm Rev Limiter, and No Speed Limiter. My real concern with the ecu is that i cant put my car at the correct 15* timing. The initial timing of the ecu is set way advanced from the 15* mark for the engine to run right. My concern is not knowing what the timing should be set to. And id hate to have it too advanced to where i could blow my engine. I dont hear any detonation but then again my car is so loud from the exhaust, turbo, and S13 rattles its hard to tell. ive been running 15psi this way for the past 5 months with no ill effects thus far. Is there any advice about the timing maps or anything i can buy to monitor how the engine runs to keep me from blowing the engine?

from what he told me via aim he's clueless in that area

kev id go to MA and see if they can do anything, unless thats what you wre down there the other week for....maybe send it away and have a company look at it?

MA cant really do much about it. Theres some writing on the chip in the ECU but cant read what it says. Anyone know if Enthalpy will take an already tuned ecu and retune it for his tune? Maybe ill just go with the Power FC shortly and not worry about it at all.

this is a long shot, but would some sort of PC program be able to tell you the paramaters that its set for?

I wondered that myself also having an unknown tuned ecu. I emailed him but havnt recieved an answer yet. anyone know if theres a company/person that can reflash an ecu?

If it was off a clip from japan i might already be a correct tune for the motor it came with even if its aggressive. Use a wide band to see if its putting out good afr readings. Enthralpy or JWT could check to see what kind of maps are loaded on the rom, wouldnt hurt to give them a call. About the retune, dependts on if its a daughter board or reflash but i think they can do both anyhow.
