while waitin for surgery and a settlement check just thinking about everything I have brainstormed for a 240SX....First of all....I don't like the roundness of the S14's how it extends back to the trunk....but I like the squareness or boxie look on the S13...are these 91-94's i'm lookin at....Say I'd get that....Now I don't like the pop-up lights on the S13...so...i'd be looking to do a conversion....Engine....i guess the most sensible would be the SR20 correct? do people throw skyline engines into this and if so how hard is that.....so the moral:How much money would I be looking at to get a new engine probably a SR20DET or TT? which one....along with prolly the S14 front end conversion?....pretty vague i understand...but could use some information for further brainstorming?

as for the SR-TT...that would be very costly, as the mani would have to be one-off, but possible. Yes, i believe people have done the Skyline swap, its a lil harder than the SR, but again possible.

HAHAHA thats funny! Did anyone see the new SS mag? sorry to (if i do) take over your post. The R34 with the RB...um no sorry the VQ30DETT motor and the Blitz 4door drifting Skyline?? granted im not a big SS fan but these were the best 2 cars ive ever seen them write on in a while!

zm_dawg, I realize this is a matter of opinion and I'll prolly get some flak for this, but why the s14 conversion?? sure it looks alright on the s14, but on a s13 I don't know. But then you could be talking about the later revamped headlights of the s14 which I guess could look alright. For my money tho I'd only do s13 conv on the coupes and the s15 conv on the fastback, otherwise I could live with the pop ups. In fact, I was suprised to see on a Japanese drifting video that a few people had converted their s13 silvias to the 180sx front ends making them look like stock first gen usdm 240sx. somehow it still looked waaay cooler than what we got here. maybe it was the whole "driving sideways" thing.

honestly maybe i'm really not sure on what chassis i want or whatever....the S14 i don't like how low and whatever the top comes down to the back. I saw a boxier one in an old SS and I believe it may have been an '89. I don't like the pop up lights and i like the S14 silvia or even S15......So i guess do i have a chance of replacing the front end of whatever S13 I'm wanting....it's gotta be an S13 the boxier back end...i know i saw it.

Yes, S13, S14, and S15 fronts are all interchangeable.
