Hey what's up ya'll? Today I had finally gotten my 300zx running again. I haven't gotten to drive it in about 3 weeks and i didn't get to start it up for about 3 weeks either. Long story but anyways today when i got it back on the road I noticed when i kick it in a low gear like 1st or 2nd it's almost like the tires stop spinning and the rpms continued to climb up until i let off of it, at first it almost felt like the car wasn't getting traction but i repeated this several times in a low gears and i know it's not because the tires, plus my tires are still almost brand new anyways. does anyone have a clue what might be causeing this oh and i noticed that when it would happen my temperature gauge kinda fell a lil bit but then returned back to normal once i let off of it.

Anyways if it helps i have an upgraded ecu and boost jets and it allowed me to turn up my boost to 14psi. the only thing i could think of is maybe it's overboosting? but i'm not sure? If anyone could help i'd appriciate it.

well considering you upped your boost im guessing your clutch cant handle that added power or torque. did you get a better clutch? how old/good is your current clutch. if your engine is revvin when you get on it but you aint makin forward progress then your power aint gettin to the wheels. thats what it sounds like to me anyways. good lucjk.

yea i have a upgraded clutch kit with a lightweighte performance flywheel but it could be the clutch because my clutch has felt almost like it has deterriated a little bit, but the clutch is about 2 years old. Is that old for a racing clutch? But the weird thing about it is when my temperature gauge dropped a lil when it started slipping or whatever in the hell it was doing?

Thanks for help bro!

yea maybe it is a slipping clutch, i've never actually had a clutch go out on me, I've always gotten them replaced by luck right before they were about to go out. so if it is my clutch slipping no wonder i don't know because i haven't ever had that happen to me before!!

thanks for the help boys!! I had actually planned on buying a better clutch in the next month or so anyways!!

oh and i forgot to mention if this helps diagnose any, right after this happened i smelled a funny smell but i didn't figure it was the clutch because to me it didn't smell like a clutch burning because i am pretty familiar with what a clutch burning smells like..
