i have a 92 hatch back with s14 sr in it and ive been trying to figure out whats wrong with my car. the problem started like this.....i went to japan for a month for vacation and bought all these stuff for my car from autoback( hehe). i came back all excited to put those priceless parts on my car n stuff, but when i actually tried to start my car it didnt. i thought it was just the battery so i bought the brand spanky new one from pep boys(yea!). however, the new battery didnt not solve my problem and my car is still in the parking alot. not moving at all. but battery did help a little.. now it sounds it wants to start( like it turns over but it doesnt spark) i checked the coil but theres no sparks at all. so thats another problem that im concerned about. also, my ecu could be dead.

help me!!

Wow pretty vague diagnosis for us to work with... If you aren't getting spark it could be a number of things but if your car ran before you left and now it won't then I would say ignitor chip or coilpacks?? Try posting in the SR forum.

yep check the ground on the coil pack harness. If that aint it, then it could be the ignitor. if you have a multimeter and 10 minute (if that at all) you can check your ignitor. If it aint that, see if your ecu pulls a code for the cas (11 iirc). If not, I'd suspect your ecu has flown south for the winter...in summer...

could be a lot of things. try having someone bonk your starter while you turn the car. check your spark plugs and distributor cap also.

I recently had to replace my starter becasue it failed to start a couple of times but always did. Then one morning it wouldn't turn over at all. Battery was fine. Banged on the starter but no use. Replaced the starter and she's been fine ever since.

Most parts stores can check the starter for you if you pull it - only 3 bolts but for one you'll need a half dozen adapters just to get to the bolt.

Good luck!
