Hi, i was just wondering what the part on the right side of the engine, above the turbo is? it has a little vacuum line coming out of it, and a larger tube that runs to the downpipe of the turbo. Also do i even need to hook this up? or can a just take it off and plug the hose from the exhaust? Thanks

EGR/AIV valve. Remove all of it. Some buy a plug for cheap, others take a dime, and cut the pipe down to less than an 1 inch, then screw it in to keep the heat from escaping. The reason why this part cannot be retained is because it directly hits the steering column. This also the reason any plug needs to be short or else you will have clearance issues.

Oh yeah, it was a nickel, not a dime. I typed it really late last night.
