So i have been tracing a leak in my car (rb20 in S13), and found fluid all over the top of the turbo.Started pulling intercooler apart and there is a substantial amount of oil it. Pulled the tube connecting the maf to the turbo pool of oil in it, took it all cleaned it and decided to check the lines on the top of the block and pulled this out of the first hose

any ideas what it is and if it is even suppose to be there. The only thing i can figure is it blocking oil and pushing it back all over the turbo :wtf2:

uh...the wire brush shouldnt be there but the restrictor should be kept.
and sounds like you have a blown turbo if its leaking that much oil.

I beg to differ, that wire brush and restrictor is factory and is in the USDM driver's side V/C vent hose that's connected to the air intake hose that connects the turbo inlet and MAF.

Pretty sure he was talking bout the oil in the intercooler. Like bad front seal.
