Alright ever since I did the complete 300zx brakes(z32) on my s13 coupe, I hear a clunk everytime I back out of the driveway or when i turn the steering wheel when back out.

Diagnostic:

1. Ebay Front Hubs( no name)

2. Ebrake cable which I spliced together (z32+s13)

3. Calipers (which i know i've tighten them all down securely)

4. I have z32 16x7.5 all around with 5mm spacers. (which barely clears the stock shock and sprng)--------------------------------------------------My assumption:

I think it may be the Front hubs or the Ebrake cable.

Everytime i back out from the driveway and turn the steering wheel to enter the street, i hear Clunk~ It seems like something is clunking into place.

I assume it is cheap manufacturing of the hubs and bad tolerances. I can't even tell if its the front or the rear of the car. But surely everytime I turn the steering wheel all the way, I hear it.

Again it could be the Z32 rims hitting the shocks or strut.

What you you fellas think? Anyone have noisy HUBS? Or run Z32 (16x7.5) wheels?

AYE~

I want to say your top bearing mounts but since you say that it's only been happening since you did the brake conversion...

S13 Front Top Bearing Mount Insulator from PDMRacing.com

Does your front end pop, clunk and make grinding noises when you turn the wheels. When you are backing up out of your driveway, do you hear a violent metallic “POP” noise? Replaced your TC Rod bushings and still hear a clunk up front? Chances are, your top spring perch bearings are gone, and you are hearing the clunk of the bearing or the spring actually releasing as it winds itself up due to the bearing not allowing the spring and suspension to rotate through the 240SX’s proper swing. Dirt, grit, water all attack this actual bearing inside the mount and we see this situation time and time again on cars that come through our shop. Solution, change the entire unit today with an OEM top spring bearing mount insulator. This unit is a bearing mounted inside of metal cup that is surrounded by rubber to help isolate road noise, vibration and allow deflection of the spring assembly as your car’s suspension is turned and twisted. Over time, the bearing is attacked by water, grime and dirt, and the rubber breaks down from heat, salt and freezing. If the bearing seizes, it will not allow the shock assembly to rotate smoothly, and binds the spring

DUDE! You are a freaking Genius.

Well, I bought the car 5 months ago. It is a 1993. And the original owner didn't do shiet to it.

I am in California, and this kid drove from South Carolina to Cali searching for his shot at fame. He sold it to me for $1,900 bucks. So that's all I have to say about the previous owner.

Yeah, my 240sx is a lot higher in the front than any other 240's i've seen. I do hear that Metal POP! CLUNK! when I back out and the driveway is at a moderate steep angle. That's the ONLY time that this happens. I think you're are correct.

And to solve this, I have STANCE SPORT GR in my bedroom waiting.~

Thanks dude!

Stances..cool! The camber plates on those will solve the problem.
