University Nissan of Boone, NC. Anybody know

anybody in the service department???

Daughter's car is being towed there right now. Was halfway back to ASU when coolant started to shoot out of.....something. Could not determine WHERE.
The radiator was empty and the overflow was full. She said it never did run hot.
But, did start running crappy. Could turn it off and ran OK, then crappy.
NO, she did not run it very long at all after she knew it was leaking.
Any insight as to what it could be?? Stuck thermostat? Bad cap?

Im going with losing pressure somewhere in the system, probably a bad rad cap and thermostat. The system must have pressure in order to circulate coolant from the overflow to the radiator. But then theres another question, why was it loosing coolant in the first place. Which could be a water pump or head gasket issue. Hopefully not though.

As far as university Nissan, my brother knows some people over there. He's the service manager at Mack Brown Inc in Boone, right down the road from there. Seem to be decent people as far as i've heard over the years.

I didn't see anything on the dip stick except fresh oil. (I changed it recently.)
00 Max SE w/ 107K .
Coolant was flushed at 85K at local Nissan dealer

Thanks!! I just HATE to take a car to a dealership when it's something I can fix, but she had to get back to school.
With more time, I can fix about anything especially with a little help from my friends!

Rad busted? Or hose?

With that many miles you might want to consider water pump replacement while they have it.

Busted Rad...Hoping that she will be in a position to sell it in < 1 year, so don't want to put too much into it.....I know that it could probably use shocks, struts, cv boots, water pump, etc....

Yes, 00 Max SE with 107K miles.
Posted here to see if anybody had knowledge of Boone Nissan.
Have heard good things about the dealership, so I think she is in good hands.
My local Nissan GM had said he knew folks there and he could call them if I ever needed anything, but he is now at a Winston Salem dealership.

^^ AGREED! Most importantly, she was safe. And made it safely back to school.
She had a flash light in her trunk, mace in her hand, AAA prem. card, a past NC sparring champ...so, I think she was well prepared. Still, I didn't like the thoughts of her waiting for us after dark at a rest stop. We beat the AAA tow truck.
HOPING she has learned why I want her to leave to go back to school while it's still light.
And yes, could have been much worse with the car!!

$436 for the new radiator.
They checked the rest of the car and only found that the belts needed to be replaced.
I replaced them 44K miles ago, so I'll check them next time she is in town.
