By "Edwards campus", are you referring to University of Kansas? I imagine the differences in credit hours costs have to do with the differing requirementsfor each degree. But as far as what is a reasonable amount, it's relative. you might complain about $4100 being a lotta money, but that's a bargain compared to some of the schools I've looked at for my son.Looneybomber wrote:I'm finally finishing up my BSEE and had to transfer to a university to do it.
Their base rate/credit hr: $253.70
* 13hrs that I'm taking (8 within the school of engineering) = $3298.10
...But my total fee (not counting the $200 parking pass) is $4099.55 so far.
Campus fees, technology fees, and extra fees per credit hr for pretty much every single school.
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences $0.00
Edwards Campus $43.45
School of Architecture $40.50
School of Business $108.55
School of Business (master's) $89.35
School of Education $21.70
School of Engineering $43.45
School of Engineering (Edwards Campus) $48.70
School of Journalism $17.50
School of Law J.D. or LL.M. $224.20
School of Law S.J.D. $1,000 per semester (fall/spring only) in addition to the Law School's $224.20 per credit hour.
School of Music/Arts $21.70
School of Pharmacy $167.00
School of Social Welfare $29.80
^That's ridiculous! Apparently the more you will make outside of school, the more of a premium they charge you. Sorry liberal arts majors, but you aint makin' squat.
Trust me, I'll be looking for assistanceLooneybomber wrote:Yes. Despite KSU being a better school engineering wise, I'm going to KU because it's closer.
$4100 for 13hrs seems a bit high IMO ~315/hr, but KU did give me a ~$1200 grant on top of my military assistance, federal grants, etc... I'm pocketing a few grand this semester, so you may want to look into what options are out there for your son, assistance wise. Maybe joining the national guard? Target also has a good tuition reimbursement program.
That's to be expected, but the price to buy is higher than I expected.bigbadberry3 wrote:Wait for books......
That is the whole year. If it wasn't for the fact that I want to work out (the parking lot is at the rec) and thus need a bag with books and a bag with clothes/shower stuff, I would have skipped it and parked off campus. It's a 13-14min walk parking in the local neighborhood and around 10min for on campus parking. So I guess I can look at the parking permit as being like a gym membership.alms24sebring wrote:And a 200$ parking pass :0 that better be for the whole year.
I don't charge NICO members. The best time to hit me up is 1-2 months before the semester starts.dre1507 wrote:Oh snap, Jesda. I forgot you were a bookstore. Hey, you think you could hook me up with some cheap books? I could pay you in pies.

Will definitely do come Spring. Thanks in advance.Jesda wrote:I don't charge NICO members. The best time to hit me up is 1-2 months before the semester starts.dre1507 wrote:Oh snap, Jesda. Inventory swells up throughout the year and then in August it all goes out the door. Despite having some help, I'm basically chained to my desk during the busy season.
I'll keep you in mind in Nov.Jesda wrote:I don't charge NICO members. The best time to hit me up is 1-2 months before the semester starts.dre1507 wrote:Oh snap, Jesda. I forgot you were a bookstore. Hey, you think you could hook me up with some cheap books? I could pay you in pies.
