The guy I bought my car fom never hooked up the o2 sensor and it has just been sitting in the header with the wire cut. Im not sure if it is a universal or an oem with the end cut off but to wire it to I just cut the end of of the wire coming from the harness and splice the 2 together? A replacement oem o2 is about $37 so would it be easier to replace with a oem and just plug right in or wire the one I have up?

Replace it with an oem, if u splice it together u can change the resistance value and ur car can potentially run like poop.

I have a 91 so I have 2 o2 sensors so do both need to be replaced and on the one by the cat were does it hook up too? Will just replacing the the o2 that is in the header do the job or will it still run crappy with the 2nd o2 sensor not hooked up?

Crimp a spade connector on the end of the wire from the sensor then plug it in to the wiring harness.

If you use a crimping tool, you'll do as good a job as on an OEM sensor.

Two sensors? On a '91?

My '93 only has the one sensor.

yea well its a dc header on it and I think it has a 2nd o2 sensor right before the cat.....so I take it this one really has no use then if the 91 originally only has one?

sounds like the second one might have been for a Narrow band gauge. If the wire on the O2 sensor is green then more than likely it's OEM

A crimp alone doesn't always work that great on a one wire sensor. Every few months I get a car that someone put a univ. bosch o2 in and the car runs like ****, as cheap as oem o2's can be had theres no reason not to buy one. You should be glad u don't drive a Mazda, the average price for a bank 1 is around 200-250. If you do use a spade atleast put a good amount of solder on it to insure a good connection, if not the change in resistance will have ur car running like poop.
