Anyone ever use one of these universal regulators, like this one?

Do they work in conjunction with the stock regulator, or replace it?

Never used one, but I do have an aeromotive unit for my drag car that semi-resembles that one. If you were to use the one in question, you would need to either remove the stock and either fit the fuel rail with an adaper that would allow you to some how make connections with your new regulator. You'll have to use one or the other.

Hmmmmm, the factory rail isn't threaded is it? Looks like the Nismo fpr has an o ring that fits the rail, then is held in with bolts?

Ahh, so this would be the only thing needed to be able to use a fpr like the one pictured above? Also, is that adaptor the one I would need on a ca-det?

I actually had one of those on my ca18, but it was red. I used a subie fuel rail adapter fitting(because it was handy).

I remember someone on here, simply drilled out their stock FPR. And used that as their adapter

mmmmm, not all.....I know atleast on my old ca18et the fpr was built into the fuel rail......it wasn't bolted to the rail like the ca18det and other nissan engines. If the fpr went bad you had to replace the whole fuel rail.

I used it.. well I used it to start the car and set the fuel pressure wprked fine. . right about that time the bearings in this car took a crap. So I shut it off. FPR is brand new.

It is for sale if you want it.

hit me up.

mine is red though.

Do you have the adaptor and a fpr? Is your fpr a Nismo one or an Ebay one like pictured above? I may be interested.....let me know

If I can save you a bit of a headache, the stock fpr is very good for most of the duties expected from members on this forum. If you must change it, get the nismo piece as it functions very well and is a bolt-on affair. Don't let price distract you because the ebay prices really aren't all that ridiculous and that puppy will get you where you need to be with your fuel system tuning.

Yeah, I vote the nismo unit for the sr20 because it requires no brain power or special bits to make it work.

Keith, I am stopping by on my way home from school in a little over two weeks. More details as I get them. Should be on the 14th-17th-ish. You can see my nismo fpr setup first hand.

Cool man.......let me know. Does the Nismo unit sit just like the stock unit? The reason I ask is the ca18det sits closer to the firewall in the s12 than it does in a s13....so I'm kinda concerned with clearence issues

Around what time? I leave Trussville to head over to B-ham for work around 6:30pm. So, I'm open all day, until probably 5:00ish, so I can get back home and get ready for work.
