I found this on the web

http://www.2kracing.com/produc.../3694

if is aluminum Im getting one. Kind of pricey but better looking, longer lasting than the expensive OEM one. And Im tire of looking for a used one in good shape. Any other options out there, I even check into other car models for a similar one to make it work but no luck.....:ylsuper

so im guessing the big whole in mine, kinda looks like the plastic caught some horrible std and is rotting away, is kinda normal. because i was wondering about that, and where the cheapest replacement or what you guys have done.

Actually, I think it's very nice especially if you've done a lot of dress up mods to your engine and you've had to relocate the resevoir like I did for my intake. It's kind of funny how it fit right in almost OEM style on the other side of the engine bay and mounted as such ... see pic. Besides, I think it would compliment my oil catch tank. :D

it would look nice, just a bit much for me, im poor though and i want those spl coilovers :)

my theory is that sunlight can go between the hood lines and shine on the coolant tank, therefore making it fall apart

I think is got more to do with the way heat transfers and travels around the engine bay, including the defective material used to built the crappy reservours.......:oface

Okay........

I was just down at the junk yard yesterday and I found a pristine, super sweet coolant reservoir for my S13. Unfortunately, when I leaned into the engine bay, I placed my hand on it and it was so brittle that I shattered it into several pieces!!!

AMOLAO, if you get that tank, please post pics of how it looks because the duct tape job that I have really detracts from the rest of the bay. Plus, I'm almost positive that the aluminum unit will add 10 HP and at least 6 lb/ft of torque through out the RPM range.

I eventually had to resort to buying a new resevoir from Nissan because I knew I'd never pass Tech inspection for track days with a busted up tank. Heck, I wouldn't feel comfortable taking that thing on the track, because a hard left hand corner would probably have me spinning out from the leaking coolant.

I thought about something like this, but in the end just decided to go OEM. I think it was a hair less than $100(ouch!). Reminded me of BMW parts pricing...

A'PEX makes an aluminum one. Id rather drop cash on that than a $90 plastic OE one.

Okay, check it out people. I opted to buy the unit from 2kracing.com for $55 which includes shipping. The one on ebay costs $40 but they want $14 shipping. Here's the funny part: I liked the square unit as shown on ebay, but bought the round unit from 2kracing ... howevvver ... I recieved a "square" can just like the Ebay model ... whatevvver ... I got what I originally wanted anyway. Anyway, it is a very nice product for $55. The ends of the tank are removable and can switch ends, making it a catch-can or fill-tank, and also has a drain nut. It comes with a crappy hose (I'll use something else, thank-you) and a basic bracket. I do think the can is chrome plated, but it may be clear coat. Much better than stock and costs less too. It will definitely add to my engine bay along side the GReddy oil catch tank.

Scotty, thanks for the awesome pics, man that thing is shiny and clean looking, I kind of like the round one, it complements the PS reservoir and all others because they are round, but hey that one looks a lot nicer than the crappy OEM one...... I dont like the bracket that comes with it, I might come up with my own design on that.......
