I have a friend that wants to buy a 06 Z but in the Auto check it stated to have Unibody damage . would this be a red flag for this car. i always drove trucks with real frames so i dont know what to tell him. What do ya think guys??

I'd personally not purchase anything with known unibody damage. I would assume it's been straightened out so everything aligns properly but I feel if something has been tweaked once it's not as strong as it was.

I've always been a believer that once a frame is bent, unibody or otherwise, that the vehicle will never truly drive the same. There are a lot of great deals on 350Z's now that the 370Z is out. Tell your friend to keep looking.

id tell him to pass, i paint cars in a production bodyshop so ive seen som pretty nasty wrecked cars, there is only a handfull of tecs in my shop that i would trust working on my car. anyways more that likely the person that repaired it wasnt taking their absolute time trying to make it perfect since it wasnt their car, working flat rate trying to slam the job out to get the next to make money. thats why some of the cars were repaired never drive the same, they may have not put a weld here or there. There is a chance it could be perfect but i wouldnt be brave enough to risk it. in otherworks i would stay away, agreeing with retired chief since there is some killer deals out for 350s since the 370s out now

I'm late to the party here but Audtatious and the Chief hit on the two key points I would have mentioned.

1) No matter how good the fix I have no doubt the overall strength has been compensated.
2) There are enough pre-owned Z's out there that a buyer can afford to be selective, extremely so.
