So my beautiful QX is in the paper for sale, the ad came out today. I just got my first call regarding the car. So yeah it's sad to say that i have to move on, but i'm changing my mind and there's really nothing i can do. The guy made an appointment to see it tomorrow. So i guess i'm just looking for support or something!

My QX was my first car and i love it dearly...but sometimes you just have to do things like this. And i cried before when the first person called inquiring about it....yeah i know that's probably dumb but what can i say i love this truck. And you guys aren't getting rid of me that easily! I'll still be around in the QX section!

I went through that with my 240sx. . pissed some of my friends off I think. . but it just wasn't reasonable to keep it, and I needed practicality.

And yes i will always miss it because i don't want to get rid of it...but honestly i can't afford to fix all the problems with it. I dunno how many of you know the story behind my QX but i'll give you some insight. I got the car in 2000 after some guy got into a roll over accident with it. The car was brought to my dads body shop and the guy didn't want the it anymore. My dad only paid auction fees and for parts and paint. He fixed it and that became the car i drove for the past 7 years. My dad didn't think that i would keep it as long as i did and has been telling me to sell it for years. I just couldn't part with it and i am still having a hard time doing so. The issue is that the truck is rusting...and quite badly. My dad fixed the problem area 3x but it keeps coming back. The only solution is to replace the entire roof. I just don't have the money for that. And not to mention other issues with it (ie. not being able to pass inspection). I don't know how much I'm going to get for it because of these issues but the dealer was prepared to give me 5K. I am going to try to sell it privately first but if all else fails back to the dealer.

I'm sorry for such a long post, but it is really hard for me to let this truck go...oh great here i go with the tears. Alright, yeah so that's all i can say at the moment....

Not yet...but i have somebody that's very interested. They test drove it and everything. The only "pet peeve" the guy said he had was he felt sort of tight in it...but it's for his wife not him! hah.......

Ya im a big guy too and my QX4 is nice and comfortable.... I sometimes put the QX4 on craigslist to test the waters, i've gotten a few real offers of around $12k....

Well the good 'ol QX is still around for now. The people who were interested in buying have not called back...so i'm not pushing the issue so it'll be around a little longer until i figure something out.

It's going to be hard to sell if it doesn't pass inspection.I'm assuming that your process for vehicle transfer is similar to ours here in Ontario.Here, if a vehicle fails the safety inspection and/or doesn't meet the emissions standard, then the new owner cannot license the vehicle. If this is your problem, then I would trade it at the dealer and let them worry about it.When I bought my Pathfinder, I traded in a Ford Windstar minivan. The van needed $5,000 worth of work to make it pass, so there was no way I could have sold it privately. When I traded it in, I accidentally forgot to mention to my salesperson that the van failed both the safety inspection and the emission tests. Oops!. Not my problem anymore.Keep us informed.Happy New Year.

It actually doesn't pass for whatever reason, i am really not sure why. But that was not the reason why i didn't get a call back from the potential buyers. I was going to trade it but figured i'd try to sell it privately first and see how that goes.

Ok so i have come to a decision!!!! I'm not going to sell it. I just can't do it. I'm going to save up the money and fix the damn roof. Then i'm gonna mod the crap out of it LOL I wanna get headers, exhaust the whole nine...maybe even a supercharger (cuz we know that model is slowwwwwwwww) I have to split the $$ for mods between the QX and my G though but yeah i'm keeping it enough said.

I'd skip a supercharger. Seems like more trouble and fuel than they're worth.

I'd go for the Q45 piston swap and beefy cams. I'm going to do that one of these days...
