so my maf went out yesterday, along with with my ****ty stock turbo. i guess stock ecu with 12psi and atm. bov was too much. i wanted to upgrade ive just been putting it off now. but i kinda have to now. so i had planned on getting z32 maf, s14 t28, 450cc dsm injectors, recirculating the bov into a hard intake pipe. walbro pump and nismo fpr. and a rom tune.

will i need anything else?

im not looking to get a certain whp number just to get it running, i'll worry about that later.

with 450cc injectors, what hp do they max out at?

if i get a rom tune, is it necessary to have an safc/wideband? i wont have the cash for it right now

From what I've heard if you mod your ecu you would be good but you may be stuck with those upgrades. I plan on doing similar mods but I was thinking of going with megasquirt II stand alone management. I checked it outand it's one of the coolest things I have seen. You have complete control over everything. You don't need a MAf or the stock coil pack, and you can make what ever changes you want and tune it yourself with a laptop. It may be more expensive in short but the long run would be worth it since you don't have to morry about all the expensive replacement parts. Check it out in the stickies for upgrades. Not to mention you could sell the stock parts to help pay for the set-up.

Nope. You socket the ECU so that you can just snap in different EPROMs as you need to retune. Not the easiest way, but it sure is cheap. I just rechipped my ECU for less than $20, and that was because I had to have someone else do my EPROM for me (thanks bio!!)

Also, look into the Pocket Romulator. This is more than likely what I will do.http://secure.transtronics.com....html

if u get the ecu tuned then u will not need a safc. As long as the person that tunes it for u does a good job. If u can 550s then that should be enough fuel to max out the turbo. Thats what I plan on doing. I just need a few more fittings.

If ur serious about keeping the stock harness and ecu, then u can get one of the Nistune boards. They come with obd1 for the ca, and realtime readout/tuning. Alittle expensive $375 i think but worth it to me.

And assuming u have a FMI, you should be good with all those parts. Goodluck.

i would serach around for that asnwer because theres about 2 hours of reading just understanding what you have to do. basically theres a computer chip in your ecu called an eprom chip, i controlls your fuel and ignition maps by altering those maps you can compensate for larger mafs and turbos and such. its cheap if you tune it yourself, theres even tunes already posted.

and i would like to go 550cc but i can get basically brand new dsm's for 120 shipped. i guess i could find some rx7 ones. how much power do they max out at? what 300whp? thats more than enough but would be nice...

bio burned my ROM, but he kinda did it as a personal favor, so I'm not sure if he will do too many more.
