hey guys, i own a 1995 Maxima 3.0G (A32).

for some reason the last few times ive started the car, as soon as i put it in either drive or reverse the engine dies... then wont start again unless i pump the accelerator...the engine cranks over but doesnt run. eventually it does start up and go but blows whole lotta crap out the exhaust.

any ideas? is it common in maximas? i think fuel injectors but dunno if they are rooted or just need some fuel injection fluid to clean em out?

Thanks,MBM

Welcome to NICO!

MAF (mass air flow) sensor. wiggle the plug after start up to see if it dies. the wiring going into the plug might be loose. until you get that fixed you can adjust the IACV (idle air control valve) located right at the intake manifold wherer the throttle body is. adjust this with a phillips head with the engine running just enough to keep it from stalling out when you put it in gear.

the plug issue can be fixed by doing a little soldering in the connector itself.
