hey guys, AJRK was looking at my right front tire and noticed uneven wear on the outer tread. Compared to my left side its a big difference.

Ive never done alignment or rotation since owned at 60k kms, now has 112k kms..well overdue i think.

Midas said they can do a package....basically oil change, brake inspection, tire rotation and wheel alignment service all for under $170....definately going to do that!

how important is alignment aside from the wear on your tires?

ive been so damn focused on the motor and body i overlook suspension and tires.

suspension....should i be worried? 1999.5 and never had any suspension work on it, and dont feel any problems with it...when should i start considering getting everything done up? thanks

also i notice some brake fade at times, can this have to do with alignment? i just got the rotors and pads done last year......

thanks guys

aligment is pretty much quite a big deal...the ride tends to be a harsh at higher speeds and sometimes you feel the vibrations thro the steering wheel...fewer mpg and overall feels pretty laggy

i wouldnt do that oil change is around $25 Alignment should be $40-$60

Tire rotation can be done yourself, or u can get it done free at discount tire

"Brake inspection" all they do it check the thickness of the pads which you should do yourself So why pay $170 for $75 worth of work, thats a terrible deal

Doesn't sound like the best deal out there, but Fueler, remember, this is Canada!

Qxxx4, I can't remember how bad those tires were, but if they're far gone, you'll want to replace them before spending the money on an alignment job... Have a look and see how bad all 4 are and decide what you want to do. Check out their age too... didn't you say they'd been on the car since you got it? You don't want tires more than 5 years old.

Good luck buddy!

theyre two and a half years old, they were new when i got the car. All tires are ok mines the other tread on the one tire. I also hear a knocking if i turn while going over a bump, so it worries me. The tires have tiny cracks starting to appear at the walls so im keeping a close eye but their not too bad, id like to get new wheels and tires all together and just leave these for winter so meantime rotation (to keep the tires lasting long) and alignment because the q needs it.

as for the deal....it seems ok to me

semi synth oil change goes for almost $60 at mr lube...theyll do it with tire rotation for only $70 (they charge $26 for rotation alone) and alignment costs $110. I dont really know where else to go, no way Canadian tires touching it. I know how to do these things myself (minus alignment) but i dont have a jack, i dont have space to do it, and in all honesty i dont have much time lol

in windsor there were these awesome garages that u can rent a hoist adn work on your car and they had all the tools. maybe they got those here, but i remember the going rate was $20 an hour to rent it out lol ripoff

just weigh your time and preparedness to deal with pains-in-the-*** vs. the cost. If somebody will do the whole shebang for you, you can afford it and would rather not do it yourself, then go for it I say.

Good call on canadian tire not touching it too. Last time I took my car to them they left a lugnut off one wheel on the tire rotation, told me an incorrect number for brake wear and didn't screw the rad cap back on properly so that all my rad fluid boiled out on the trip home.

I was to say the least.

You can't tell me you don't have any decent mechanics up there. I've seen Ice Road Truckers. YOu've gotta have at least 1 in every town!

And how the $%@#%&* does a tire rotation cost $26?!?! Our dollars are about even these days, and they're free in San Deezy if you bought the tires there. And there ain't NOTHIN free in this town!

discount tire does them for free, one time the guy tried to tell me that i didnt buy the tires there so its not free, i was like "i got 3 cars, two of which have your tires on them. Want me to stop coming here all together? as well as my family? I can just as easily go to el amigo tires and they are friendlier there too" he rotated them for free, with the quickness!!
