uneven rear tire wear - 2002 q45

168k on this q. been spending some dough lately. recently had it inspected and passed in 2/10. 4 wheel alignment then also. no tire probs then. i drive alot ( 3-4k/mo.).

original shocks all around. electronic suspension = normal or sport.

any suggestions would be helpful. had to spend 450 on 2 new michelins for the rears....

what part of the tire is wearing most? and is it choppy or smooth?

inner edge / right side more than left....

the belt was starting to show on the right rear tire, so i had to replace now at 30k miles....

that sounds like your camber is off to me, when you got your alignment, did they give you the paper with all the info and such?

Sounds more like his toe is out of spec to me... A little negative camber doesn't hurt. But toe is the tire killer.

OP check your alignment info and make sure your toe is set to 0.

as said before, if only one edge of the tire is wearing, then its an alignment issue.

if its worn in strips across the tire, its a balancing issue.

also check to see if your rim is bent. that could also cause irregular wear on the tire
