As you guys can tell this is the first timr I've posted on this list... I've watched it off and on for about a year though. My girlfriend has a 1995 240 SX SE that I inevitably end up working on...

Anyway I'm having problems with the rear pads wearing unevenly. The pad will somehow get angled to one side and cause it to wear at an angle. Have you guys seen this problem on your cars before, and if so what can I do to solve the problem? It only seems to be a major problem on the passenger side rear.

I'm gonna have to replace the pads again and the rotors are to the point where they can no longer be turned and still be in spec. I looked on Tirerack.com and they didn't offer any slotted rotors which is what I would like to put on it. Do you guys have any suggestions of good quality slotted rotors that I can get at a reasonable price? Thanks for any help in advance...

you will have to replace the entire brake system on that side (the rotor, and caliper)

Well I'm going to replace the rotors, but why do you say I have to replace the caliper?

When I replaced the pads last time I didn't apply any kind of lube to the points where the edges of the pad seat in the mounting bracket... Could that be making them hangup and making them bind causing them to engeage the rotor at an angle?

it sound like the caliper or something causing the uneven wear, check to make sure everythings correct and in its place(shims, pads, etc)

you amy want to replace the brake lines, possibly rebuild the calipers, etc while your in there, depending on whats causing the wear..-chet

It sounds like Chet is correct. Something is sticking in the caliper slides to cause that type of wear. Get a rebuild kit and be sure to replace any pins or clips as well. I am not aware of anone making a slotted rotor for this other than the Brembo GT kits which would replace the entire front brake system on the car (calipers included).

I went looking around on Ebay last night and there are several sets of front and rear rotors offered for the car that have Brembo packaging behind them in the pics. Some of the ads call the Brembo/Radi rotors. These are all drilled and slotted... I'm not a big fan of drilled rotors on a street driven car, I prefer just slotted. Has anyone on here had issuses with the drilled rotors cracking?

Someone posted photos of these a week ago and we had a good talk about it. What these guys are doing is taking the standard Brembo rotors and slotting/drilling them. They remove more material from the rotor (reducing the rotor's ability to act as a heat sink) and they are not anodized to resist rust. When Brembo slots a rotor they remove only a small percentage of the material (much less than drilling) and they never slot and drill a stock size (weight) rotor. I wouldn't use them.
