I seem to have a wierd mostly intermitent problem. If im driving along normally (accelerating and changing gears) the car runs like a top, however if i try to maintain a speed (lets say 35) it will bog down if i keep the gas held at a certain point too long. After it begins to bog out i have to push the gas down quite a bit to get it to pick acceleration back up. I have also noticed that it does this a little bit when i release the clutch but the clutch grabs fine and doesnt slip any. i have had the car put on a diagnostic machine that came up with nothing. any possible ideas on what could be going on here??? thanks

I would hook up an event scanner to the car and take it for a drive. It could be possible the fuel computer is malfuntioning. Or it could be something as simple as a bad coolant temp sensor, oxygen sensor, dirty mass air-flow sensor.

I would first check for fouled plugs and then check for an air system leak. To check for an air system leak pinch the pcv hoses and see if the engine idle speed rises, if it does you have an air leak.

To check your oxygen sensors, turn your ecu screw clockwise then counterclockwise. Start your motor, warm it up, when its warm run it at 2,000 rpm and make sure the check engine light blinks at least 5 times in 10 seconds.

I've also read that the purge canister line can cause this if it has a leak. Disconnect the hose and plug it and see if the problem disappears.

Hope one of these can help you out.

would buying one of the things that like remap the air/fuel ration and gives you readouts on what its doing help this situation at all? I dont know exactly what they do but i see mostly apexi brands of them.also could it have anything to do with the clutch, i feel the lag at the point that the clutch engages the engine but it doesnt lag anymore after its going unless im like between 1-3 rmp. any advice?
