I installed an underdrive pulley & smaller belts a little while back, and I've been unable to get it to stop squeaking. It's not a belt squeal, it's coming from the pulley base. Any ideas? Did I perhaps install something wrong? Has anyone else had this problem?

Check the alignment of the belts and make sure they are in line with their corresponding pulleys. How much slack do you have in your belts?

I ConcurBelts must line up exactly as they should be very tightly tensioned.I was surprised how tight they need to be even with a standard pulley.Any slight angle between pulleys will cause a nasty squeal. Especially with fresh belts.Look for glazing on both sides of the belts coming off the crank pulley. That will be a clue.

Very little slack - about 1/2" deflection when pushed in the middle of the longest run on each. I'll check for glazing and try to eyball the alignment.

Thanks!

1/2" is way too loose.1/4" is more like it.
