underdrive pulley quetion

i am currently sitting here bored as hell, waiting for the ups man to deliver my underdrive pulley along with a few other parts. anyways, here's my question...i was reading some install instructions and it said "The maximum HP gains from the pulley/s can be expected within 5-7 days of driving, once the computer has recalibrated fully and taken advantage of the engines lighter rotational weight."

is this true?? i was expecting immediate gains and didnt even give a second thought about the computer having to "recalibrate." those of you who have already done this, what did you experience??

If the computer has to relearn any parameters, you can just reset the ECU.
