I was wondering how much an underbody oil spray ususally costs? Is it actually useful in the winter?

Around 100 and some people swear by it. Does really help? Apparently so. It's a tried and tested method for corrosion prevention. But you have to do it every year.

Unless you plan on using your car for a long period of time 15+ years, complete waste of money.

So im thinking.. 100$ a year to prevent rust.. Just say i sell the car in 8 years, and the oil spray works, i have minimal rust. Will the car retain more then 800$+ in value than a rusted coupe?

Im thinking about it.. Think ill do it..

They SALT the roads to death here in toronto ontario. The roads are literally WHITE in the winter time b/c of salt.

After 8 years you'd be lucky to get that 800 back. Personally I am planning to swap cars more or less when the extended warranty is gone because at the stage any repairs starts to cost a lot. So for me I don't see value in the spray.

What that 800 dollars does is help you ensure certain critical systems like your brake lines don't rust and break and cause an accident. However, that doesn't happen often and really it's up to you to decide the bottom of the car will look a lot better though with the oil spray.
