Whoever owned my S13 before my Father-In-Law had a POS security system installed in it. When it was installed, it was done quite half assed, and subsequently it became junk, and my FIL had someone clip some wires to kill it. Anyways, I got under the dash and removed it, along with clipping the wires, and while everything works (I think), there is a ****load of wires dangling now, and I have no idea where they go to. The most confusing one is a fate one that comes out out the center console, gets spliced about 5 times off to other wires, and pulgs into a cigarette lighter plug and an adapter, then up into the fusebox.

Has anyone ever tried to remove something like this and reconnect the stuff? I mean, I would have to believe that each of those whires did something at one point (although they weren't doing much when the alarm was dead), so I'd think they would/should need to be reconnected.

Thoughts/experiences?

Edit: I can spell, I'm just too lazy to correct the errors...

most alarms come with a ****load of wires. i wouldnt be suprised if the wires were cut close to the alarm, leaving all that slack wire just hanging. im sure that wire that was spliced a ton is your ignition wire, but as long as you have accessories working with the key on its working fine. is there anything on the car that doesnt work? if you could list stuff out i could help you more. most alarms only tap into power/lock/light wires so if those all work then you should be fine. it wouldnt hurt to remove all the extra wiring though, as they serve no porpose now with the alarm out.

also, make sure that all your wires are taped off with electrical tape. i was putting in a radio in a guys truck a while ago at my work and he had a ton of wires just cut and sitting there. i probably should have taped them off for him but we were closing so i had to finish up. next day he came back, as he was driving that night his dash caught on fire.

Here's some pics. If you can figure out what went where, and where I start, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Here's that thing that's connected to the fusebox VIA a Passport cigarette adapter.

Here's where it's in the fusebox.

Two plugs that I'm thinking connected all these now loose wires.

red and black together looks like siren wire,red/blue twisted together looks like LED,white red looks like light flash,(park lights)blue/black to relay looks like light flash relay or maybe door lock, looped green looks like starter kill line, fuse box red is a power, plugs are stock for stuff like maybe cruise control or whatever, yellow is ignition or 12V+,fat one could be for a proximity sensor . (radar sensor) sorry i cant be more help but the pics are really close up so its hard to get an overall picture. but i'm pretty sure about my observations. i installed alarms and stereo for 14 years. good luck my friend!!
