Under dash noise

When I press on the gas pedal--there is a strange clicking, ticking type sound under the dash. But not when I take my foot off the gas pedal. Anyone know what it could be?

have you stuck your head under there and pressed it??

The noise is from the B&M shifter...........it stops when I push the knob.I"m going to superglue the thing
