Ok guys... so the terms are yet to be released.. but the "power band" of the working force will get a $600 tax rebate in the summer (based off 07 fiscal year)... Tax free ofcourse lol...

Anyone ear-mark their return for something yet?I am hoping by that time all the exhausts will be out and ill have my pick of the litter... or you can just paypal your rebate to [email protected] and i will use yours to get a body kit!

Mine is staying in the bank (the complete opposite of what the government wants us to do with it). I might have the itch to spend it though

We could probably buy 1/10th of a turbo kit with that! Or we could collectively pool the money and invest it in something and split the profits. You always have to find a way to turn money into more money!

Generic's got the right idea... and the point is for us to SPEND the money to "kick-start" the economy... so i figure, its the least i could do...Especially because i sold google on wed, and bought YAHOO baby...

To those un-initiated on savings... if you put the $600 in a US ETF... (and you are around 20 yrs old) when you retire at 60 you will have.... around $20,000

At 20 yrs old we should be investing in more high risk assets while we can, and throwing a moderate yet consistent amount of money into long term savings/retirement accounts. Retirement accounts can be tax-deductible, so it's like you're not paying anything at all. No need to go crazy either, put in your tax-deductible $2000 a year and you'll have over 200K when you retire.

This is a car forum though, and cars excite me, so maybe I should be a good (frugal) American and get an exhaust with my rebate.

My rebate is going to go towards what I owe Uncle Sam for '07. Word of advice, never EVER cash an IRA early when you leave one job for another! I love my 20/20 hindsight!

By the time that 600 smackers comes my way, I'll hopefully be engaged. So, sadly, it will be spent on a down payment on a new home or honeymoon or something.

I need to make more $$ in the short term cuz my time for spending excess disposable income is coming to an end!!!

Also, I have a Finance Degree, and those of you that mentioned investing are 100% correct!! I wish I knew at 20 what I know at 26!!! I'd be that much closer to being richer!!! When in comes to investing, there is nothing greater than the power of time!!!

Ah, ***k it, I'm gonna buy an exhaust!!!!!!!!!

Hey does anyone know if I'll get a refund, I made over 3K or whatever the limit was, but I was a full time student until I graduated in December, and am pretty sure I'm going to get back all my income taxes. All I know is that 600 bucks would be great right now since I have 20 bucks in my bank account, and a 25 dollar parking ticket waiting to get paid.

Speaking of the S2000, some jackass "raced" me in his S2000 with his son in the car, but we only got up to about 40 because we were in a town. I truly believe I would have beat him, at least to about 80. Two days later I saw the car and he overheard me talking about our "race" and rolls down the window to inform me that had there been a race, he would have smoked me.

Do they include injections of a cocky complex with the purchase of S2000's??

And what's with the new SI running 14.7's in the quarter mile. I'd be ashamed to lose to one on the streets, but I probably would.

well the new si finally has balls but looks uglier then the last si hatch. and s2ks are kind of in the mid life crisis car class so yes they give middle aged men big egos or aid their egos, but i love em i got one from a dealer for four hours with my friend and im sure we broke it we drove the piss outta it. idk im surprised u didnt beat him off the line, but i could feel the vtec at like 40 so it would prolly pull on u hard then. its a really really fun car

The new si is sick. I was messing with some guy with a cherry red one and it can roll. He finally gave it some gas and it sounds sweeeeeeeeeeet. We were in town so I didn't race him but he would have eaten me for lunch either way! I'm not worthy.............. lol

Someday I'll want to have a son so that I can teach him that Honda's are extremely reliable, long-living cars that are generally low maintenance. I love my coupe, but I also love driving my old daily drivers (89 Accord Coupe & 90 Acura Legend).Been driving those two cars for 10 years, and I will never bash them.

Haha, well I should have beaten him off the line but it was like those awkward teenage kisses , we both started going for it, then backed off, then one of us went for it and the other paused. By the time we both realized we wanted some, we were doing 40 in a 25 so I couldn't really continue.

But yeah, the 3.5 would have spanked him off the line, and fallen away once he got into his power band.

I'd run him in a heart beat on the highway but I don't mess around in the city. (rarely) It will get you top end for sure but I'd love to run a civic si!
