Hey there fellow V owners. I have done the impossible, but maybe not that impossible.

I DRAGGED MY FRIENDS 1998 HONDA PRELUDE SH COUPE (STOCK) AND WAS OUT IN FRONT THE WHOLE TIME, EVEN NEAR THE END GOING UP HILL!!!

SAY WHAT YOU WANT, I WAS THERE, I RACED HIM FROM THE START, I WON!

Good job, when it actually comes to racing...it's all about the driver.

slow car + below average driver = Go hang yourself or practice makes perfectslow car + average driver = Not badslow car + good driver = DAMN you can drive

I was at a car meet last Sunday around 5pm at a local Sonic here in CO. We met up for an hour or so, cruised around for a while.

Shortly after, I raced a '95 240sx, a '02 Pontiac Firebird, and an old Nissan truck. I was in 3rd when the 240sx and Pontiac passed me by at 120mph. I was going 110mph at 3800 rpm. Luckily, there was no police around. Bro, CVT is kickin' in and keeping me in check!

88 prelude: 104 hp, 2700 lbs.08 versa: 122 hp, 2700 lbs.

Age of his car means he's likely seeing less than 80 hp at the wheels, which leads me to believe you're right.

It's not an 88 Prelude, it's a 98 SH which is around 200 hp.

Nice kill. Late-model Preludes are ugly.

Very impressive, street racing? And to think you were freaking out about BYR's being unsafe. How unbelievably stupid. Around this neck of the woods we go to the drag strip (in the summer) to see who has bragging rights. Instead of endangering innocent people on the street ("even near the end going up hill!!!!). I hope you didn't have the family with you.

Haha, I was waiting for someone to notice!!!! Nope, a backroad used for logging trucks in the summertime, about 5 kilometers from the nearest house and traffic of any kind, its where we all go to drag, BUT, if I dont have my family in with me and some ricer or mediocre sports car pulls up at a red light, hell, even if I am just doing normal driving and all of a sudden the car I just passed is now right beside me and hinting for a race, yeah im racing!

Superskunk, I would say out of everyone here you understand more of what I went through and how excited I was to kill a 98 Prelude, I mean that is a mediocre sports car with 195HP, ah, Nissan did something right, and to those who say the V is a econo car.....they are leaving out mediocre sports car!! Lol.

The place I live in has only 15,000 and the road are bare and mountainous, people DO NOT walk these roads most people have vehicles here. If I get a chance, I will take some video for everyone and show you guys what its like in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Dont get me wrong, there are a few areas, maybe 2 or 3 that are flat and have the malls or stores on it, but not like Toronto or Edmonton.

I don't know man..... Prelude..... the reason why Prelude dies is because civic, and speically integra with mods can outrun lots of Preludes....

Handlin is the only advantage for Prelude.... The only reason why i like Prelude is pretty much becuase of that 4WS (Real 4WS, not hydraulic assist one) so far I still think 89-91 & the last gen prelude is the best lookin Prelude.

Lol....I eat civics for breakfast, but then the new SI's eat me for supper. I beat a couple of integras around here, but there are some that have the who setup you know, header, IM, engine rebuilt with performance parts, honed out head ports and the whole shebang, but thats understandable, I think the transmission has a BIG role in racing since its up to the transmission to get the power to the wheels, more power the better.

I misread somehow, then.

I've driven a 98 Prelude SH (and an 88, coincidentaly)...

Something is definitely amiss, the 98 is a quick car.

Dude my girlfriend has a 5-speed 98' prelude. Those cars are pretty quick. Good kill! Like you said earlier, a lot of it's in the transmission. The 6-speed Versas have really good gearing.

Obviously the prelude I dragged wasnt faster, my car is a 4 spd auto by the way and NOT CVT. I started off in 2nd gear until I hit the redline and then shifted into D and then I started spreading the gap!! He has an automatic as well, so little to no driver error I would say.

Your homework assignment:

1) Hit the drag strip. 2) Bring us time slips.3) Revel in newfound fame and redemption.

LOL @ this thread.

I don't know man. I'm not even sure Versa's get into the 16's on the strip.

I'm not saying you are bull****ting us but these Preludes run mid to low 15's all day long.

Actually a 5-speed Manual prelude will run 15's with a good (not great) driver. He raced a 4-speed Auto prelude, much slower, but he had a 4-speed auto Versa so it seems right to me. We have a strip here, ill run my girlfriends prelude against our 6-speed versa and get you guys know what happens. It should be close. I have to watch for the V-tec though
