so i put an intake on my car and after i noticed that this was just sittin there.... what is this for??? I had to take out a little hose that goes from the intake box to this... is it ok to leave it open?

either put a breather on it... like this

or just take that whole thing out and plug it up... you don't really need it. Nissan later found that out and ditched the idea when they made the s14

it's the PAIR valve.Pulsed air something or other.according to the FSM it's supposed to suck air from the intake box into the exhaust so the exhaust doesn't get too much vacuum.... or some crap along those lines.

I pulled mine out 3 days after i got the car. Along with most of the other worthless emissions crap.

Yea that worthless crap that limits the hydro carbons our car's emit.. That eliminates the O3 in our atmosphere.... Who needs atmosphere, we want that extra half a HP! Wooo for stupidity!

That is called the AIV (air induction valve) and it puts fresh air into your exaust manifold to make it leaner so the cat heats up more quickly. It's not going to hurt anything if its not there... or functioning. I removed mine when I went SR.

Just put a breather filter on it and plug the intake hole, or run a hose to the intake, it's all the same. It's smog equipment, won't affect performance.

thats an egr-exhaust recirculation valve. trow it away. plug da intake, and cut and clamp toghether the stupid metal tube.
