Here's what I want to do: I own a 1990 ka24e powered nissan axxess minivan (stanza platform basically). I got an entire kn13 twincam pulsar at my disposal, how much of the pulsar should I take and swap over to make the ca18de work in the van. Do I need to swap the trans or dothey both have the same mount holes, I'm sure there's a guide somewhere on how to do a ka24e>ca18de(t) swap, but I don't have time to look for it, just like post a link.

Oh, and I plan to turbo it real soon after I get all the bugs worked out, so a link to all the differences between the ca18de and ca18det would be great too.

I think I can make a stainless turbo manifold, but any available fwd ca18det turbo manifold would be a nice easy way out, anybody got one?

As far as turbos and intercoolers, I got them comming out my ears, what do you think would be cooler for a turbo on it: a garret (can't remember number, have to dig it out) off of a 88' Drag Gran National Flowed by kenne bell, or a T3 off a 89' turbocoupe thunderbird?

Why am I doin' this, I'm tired of those chrysler turbo vans hogging the spotlight, and someone needs to seriouly kick their asses. Plus these vans beg for race mods: four corner McPheresons (gonna be recieving strut tower bars, eibach's, and fat-*** swaybars so I don't end up looking like a ford firestone exploder), huge engine bay, weighs like nothing(without a crew inside, I compare it's drag racing to throwing an empty lunchbox), AND THE REASON I BOUGHT IT TO BEGIN WITH; IT COST $300 AND HAS A STICKSHIFT. Stickshift minivans are rare as hell by ay brand, nissan freaking rocks.

Yeahhh..... Hey how'd you know about that? (It's actually another reason I bought it, I'll explain some other time) I'll take care of those problems, point is, can anybody answer the questions above?

The transmission from a Ka24de will not fit due to the bell housing being bigger, so you need the transmission from the pulsar, you need to get the wiring harness, not sure about engine mounts, since I work on pulsars, never had a chance to work a 240sx, although I love to..Axles are different, so you need to use the axles from the pulsar, I got a fwd turbo manifold for sale, $200 dollars and it is yours. If I were you , I would get the ca18det and put it instead of ca18de engine, if you are planing do turbo a na ca18de I recomend you change the pistons to lower compression other wise you will blow up the engine.

other than the pistons, what else is different between the two engines? I got a fsm from a s13 ca18det I downloded from datnet.org but I have no info specifically about the ca18de except what I can see from the outside. Does the NA ca18de have the crank-mains brace on the bottom as well? And If it doesn't are the main bolts different lengths? I also have an fsm for my 87' 200sx se that details everthing about the ca18et and ca20e, I plan to eventually build a longrod ca19det (yes, 1.9, ca20e block, ca18det everything else, jun longrods). I build race engines quite frequently, but I always go over every aspect and have all the info ahead of time, the ca18de is kinda hard to find info on, and I'm not paying $70 for a temperary motor.

Biggest difference between the DE and the DET is that the DET have a crank girdle for stability, oil squirters (Not needed) and of course the pistons and rods. And if you really need a stock turbo manifold for a crack-head price, give me $90 and cover shipping!
