Has anyone bought this product. It plugs into OBD II port and seems to be much more capable than a simple code reader for about the same money.

That's the first I've seen anything about it.

That country road scene looks like the place where I learned to how drive. It really looks familiar..

You could probably find a real clean way to mount that...

I have the a similar product called ScanGauge. You want to put it were you can see it easily. The scangauge has 4 readout at a time and can monitor 20 differnet functions.
When you calibrate it, use a gps for the distsance. Switch the gauge to meters and the gps to meters. this provides more acurate calibration. It really helped this summer as I was going over the grapevine into LA and then across the mojave desert in midday. THe termp reading got to 236. I pulled into an autozone and bougt a 10" electric fan and installed it on the spot
I had installed a new water pump right before the trip as a precaution.

Actually, the previous owner had installed the Garmin mount disc on the flat space just in front of the LCD display. The suction cup mount supplied with the Ultragauge would fit there perfectly.

It looks like a great product but notice that on the compatibility pulldown menus Infiniti is not listed nor is the 4.5L engine. It sounds similar to the one Will Crews has in his Q and I think Ozzie from Down Under had a variation of it in his 94Q also. If I can find one on Ebay I'm going to get it for my other vehicles.

The OBD I is not compatible, but the OBD II models of the Q45 are.

I just bought one through their website. They take PayPal for payment and the shipped price was PP$76. It's my play money.

When I get it I'll seek out someone locally with a newer Q and try it out. In the meantime we'll have some fun in the wife's and daughter's Accords.

Don't forget to do their feedback after you read the manual to get their rebate.

The OBD II format should be detected automatically and it should be the same for the Q and the Accords.

More research shows this ecoRoute "HD" version only works on a very few Garmin GPS's...

Glad I tried to down load software b4 purchase of bluetooth OBDII unit.
How may times, have I had to search forever to see if a product will work with my hardware... too many.

OK Goody90q45, any updates? I have gift money burning a hole in my pocket.

Sorry for not providing an update. On the day I got the UltraGauge in the mail my cat (now my deceased ex-cat) bit me in the knuckle while I was relaxing on the couch reading the owners manual. The infection that developed overnight has resulted in 2 surgeries (minor) and a bandaged hand that's made it impossible to do any work on the Q. I'm also having problems with the defroster and have had the Q parked for 3 weeks until I'm able to reach my hands under the dash.

I did manage to get about an hour the afternoon I received it trying it out on our two Honda Accords. I connected immediately and displayed the factory presets which are mostly MPG, speed and fuel economy figures. Same kind of info you'd see permanently displayed on a dashboard in newer vehicles. There's lots of data available on most all of the sensors but it will only display 18 items at a time by scrolling through 3 screens (6 per page). If you want more data you need to go into SETUP and program the next 18 items to display. This could be a bit tedious if you wanted to look at engine data since there's so much available. One of the data points is fuel pressure so I'm anxious to hook it back up to the Accords to see what it displays. I should be able to check it out further in a couple of weeks.

Consider that the cheapest OBD2 reader you're going to find will be about $35 shipped on ebay and it's only going to read and clear codes, nothing else. For another $30 the UltraGauge also reads sensors and voltages so it's probably not a bad deal. The cheapest OBD2 reader I've seen in an auto parts store was about $100.

The only person I know of locally with an OBD2 Q45 is Mark Crews (MCrews). Maybe he'll read this and get in touch with me. Anyone else in the Sacto area?
