As most of you know, Fiznat has his car up and running and it will soon be tuned. He's using a fairly similar setup to me, same turbo, almost the same alcohol kit and our internals will be slightly different. The big difference is that he's using the AEM EMS to tune with. I'm using the SAFCII with a 300ZX MAF.

The contest is to see who can get more power out of the motor. The AEM EMS which will be dyno tuned, or me with the SAFCII and every DIY mod I can think of. There isn't any set rule as far as what we can run, N2O, alcohol, propane and even nitromethane can be used.

We'll keep everyone posted as to the progress.

Let the smack talking begin!!!

How about we set some ground rules such as:1) total timing2) max air:fuel ratio (12:1?)3) max octane

I really like to see competition but I dont want anyone to lose an expensive motor!

Rock on!

..or how about anything goes!

I'm gonna put my money on fiznat's aem ems power....

But if you also want to make it a contest of hp/dollar, I think WD has the advantage!

i think puttin an safc vs. an aem ems is kinda unfair, but "DIY" mods could easily make up for the imbalance. I also think that Ivan should be kept out of the tuning equation to make things fair as two vs one never seemed fair to me...............

Im gonna be rooting for WD as we share the SAFC in common. screw big paychecks, all you ever needed was the SAFC in the first place. lol.

Rules are for the weak and timid. I don't like losing, so I may have to blow up a motor or two just to win.

So he can basically dial in where detonation is happening and then eliminate it.......in addition to having access to a wide band 02 if the dyno shop he's visiting is a good one......Im going to say, if he knows what he's doing.....he will win.

I have a wideband...and a knock meter.

No set date, I don't even have forged internals yet. But I am starting the tuning process now. Just like Fiznat.

If you are willing to dig into the ecu, I'm willing to lead the way. How are you controlling the alcohol? Any and all mixes allowed?

ahhahha WD now this is something I really dont understand. WHY would you go and make a post about all of this and let everyone know about our competition? Do you have any idea how embarassed you are going to be when I smash your puny DIY setup back into the junkard pieces from which it came?! There is no way you are going to be able to hide now! I mean, this is not good for your image at all! You, a moderator and long time source of knowledge on turbocharging and the KA- BEATEN, no DESTROYED by little ol' fiznat.

Well, I guess its your decision, but dont say I didnt warn you!

As far as setups, here's mine:

T3/T04E .50 Trim .63 TurboBuilt with 8.5:1 .20 over Ross pistons, all new lower end stuff, headwork with ferra valves, etc etcAEM EMS with UEGO widebandSnow Performance stage II methanol injection kit (map based)MSD IgnitionHeat seeking rocket launchers in the fendersS14 VLSD

Professional dyno tuning (me + an AEM tech w/ lots of experience) is TUESDAY.

WD, I feel sorry for you and your car-- but this will be a fun exercise. My car will need some warming up before I head out to race bigger and faster cars

Not to get o/t but I think we need to get together someone from each part of NICO for the 240. SRvsRBvsKAvsCA. Now that would be the Ultimate Competition.=)

I could help Fiz, but we would have to unplug a spark plug wire so WD could keep up

Good luck guys. Stay safe.

Fiz may very well beat me, but he's going to have to make the margin quite big for the amount of money he's spent in comparison. Don't let his attitude sway you, he's nervous.

Demetrius...if you inhale the exhaust when running alcohol you get a ultra cheap buzz.

also fiz I couldn't get that link to work I don't know whats up with the page it just loads a banner and a return to homepage box. Anyways Best of luck to both of you and whats gonna determine the winner? Lowest Time slip, Biggest Dyno Numbers, or are you gonna race it up at a track for lowest time? Or is it gonna be a combo of those and more?
