So, I've been really liking the 2010+ A/C 3.5SR lately, and would most certainly get one with the 6MT.

A few questions that I haven't been able to really determine by searching this forum.

1.) After reading a lot of the posts and threads about superchargers and turbochargers, I've fallen into a suspicion that these engines are adequate enough to support boost with stock internals and can get high enough with some beef-up parts, limited really only by the chassis and platform. Since there isn't a definitive supplier for supercharger kits for the 3.5 and the single turbo is only for 2008-2009 models (from what I could tell), are owners forced to piece together and fabricate stuff to make a decent turbo build?

2.) Would a turbocharger or supercharger be better for a daily driving / momentary burst of fun type of setup?

3.) Low to medium boost? Or balls-out high boost with engine reinforcements and modifications?

4.) For the ultimate setup, has anyone proposed or started / completed a TwinCharger setup (for those who aren't familiar... turbocharger and supercharger, charge-cooled and inter-cooled)?

Yes, I'm a noob. Yes, I'm proud of it. No, I don't own an Altima Coupe, but I really like them. I'm a huge Nissan enthusiast though, and I've owned a 240sx (for whatever that's worth...).

Tear this apart if you really want to, I'm prepared for it.

I'd really like to hear some good discussion on this though, especially from the guys who have succeeded in boosting their 3.5's.

1) In general, a N/A engine can handle roughly 6-9psi boost properly tuned and be pretty reliable, If you want more you will have to upgrade and change the internals. The 3.5 is a very solid motor. As for a supercharger/Turbocharger, if there is one for an 08-09, it will work for 2010 n up, Supercharger kits for the 350z can be modified to work with the 3.5 if clearance permits. You forgot one important factor on boost limit, the transmission can only take so much and you will have to look into it, I think the 3.5 transmission is good for maybe +/- 450whp.

2) Supercharger IMO as its more predictable (and like the sound more then turbo), but with variable-vane turbos it's up to you

3) You have to look into the engines limits with the changes, and building a REAL high output motor isnt so simple. People dont think, heavy modification of an engine will have the need for fuel delivery modifications along with a bounch of other stuff.

4) Thats overkill

5) Expect to spend a good amount of $$$$$ to do this!!! Are you even going to buy one :poke: ??? Because I dont see the point in this if you aren't :gotme !

I still think the AC is one of the nicest looking coupes out there and always gets looks with a few changes, I like the 08/09 the most. The 240sx is one of the biggest tuner cars out there, a great car :bigthumb: !

I totally agree with you there. Is there a way to make this car RWD? I think it looks better than the G coupe and I don't need all that ridiculous luxury stuff, if I'm going to build a streetable A/C with forced induction. If I could make this RWD, I would just do that and put a medium turbo setup on the 4-cyl version until Nissan makes a competitor to the FR-S/BRZ.

Even if you were able to do it yourself, it would be VERY expensive and take a very long time. And if you were to do that much work, I'd sway in a better motor (wont be able to use original motor). Not worth it if money is a consideration. I tossed that idea around if I had the $$$ and time, maybe oneday :gotme .

There's a guy doing a FWD->RWD conversion on his older 2.5 altima sedan. He's also throwing in a v8, lol, check it out...

Aside from that, I wish there were an easy way to get this car to be RWD... From what I researched it's theoretically possible but the platform that fits both our transmission and engine is in the Nissan Xtrail which is only sold in Canada and Austraila.
