Looking at buying an S13 200SX in the UK, and just thinking about which year to go for - ie: if it is 1992+ then the car comes with a CAT which I presume does it make the car slighltly slower ?

Also - if the car is fitted with a CAT, apart from the O2 sensor is there any other difference, I heard somewhere that the manifold may be different ?

Any comments welcome, ThanksNick.

A cat doesnt reduce the speed of the car by much at all. Driver skill can easily make up for any lost power from the cat.

cosnww,

No UK s13 requires a CAT, i 've got a 93 S13 and I passed the MOT without it, also the only difference is the turbo exhaust outlet, one has a boss for the lambda probe the other doesn't.

The manifolds are exactly the same with or without the CO sensor.
