I've searched and searched. I've read the tire FAQs. The choices are overwhelming and I know there have been better tires released since those were written. I hate to make a thread like this, but here it is.

I have a 96 240sx. Size is 205/55/16. The car came with Fuzion ZRi tires which are getting to be pretty bald.

I might try to get into some autocrossing in the future, but for now it's a completely daily driven car with a little "spirited" driving here and there. I need good dry traction as well as wet. Wet is very important to me, as I don't have another car to drive in the rain.

Based on Tire Rack consumer reviews for UHP tires, I had narrowed my choices to Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval (109/tire) and Bridgestone Potenza RE750 (120/tire). That's already fairly pricey for me, don't really want to spend more if I can avoid it. Would one of these be recommended more than the other? Better performance, tire life, obvious price point, etc. Maybe there's another, better, tire out there that I'm overlooking.

Help me out? Please? I need tires soon and don't have any prior experiences.

I picked up a set of Kumho ASX's for the winter/rainy season and so far am quite satisfied. Paid in the neighborhood of $400 mounted and balanced at Discount. 225/50 on 16x8's damn ugly tire, but I have yet to find fault with 'em.I tend to keep my spirited (driving like a jack ***) shenanigans on lonely roads and late night runs and generally drive like an old lady the other 96.2% of the time. And even more so when it's wet out. Considering the size you are looking at, the options may be somewhat limited, but probably cheaper.
