which is part of the same harness that has the two pin connector that snaps onto what looks like a pressure sensor on the power steering pressure lines, beneath the engine on driver side, forward of the ps rack, astern of the ps pump. Starting near said ps connector, there is a cable about 18" long that terminates in a single three pin connector. If anyone can picture it, and knows where it goes it would help a member out.

PS My car is 1992 q45, I looked at 1994 FSM to no avail, it seem the manfuacturer changed the harness between 1992 and 1994.

Thanks, Drake

could it possibly be the harness for the o2 sensor? thats the only 3 pin connector that I can think of in that general region.

to clarify, the harness splices off the PS pressure switch harness and STARTS there, and then goes some 18inches in some direction (probably back??)

could maybe be the harness for the power steering solenoid. have you had any issues regarding this thing not being plugged in?

If the PS solenoid is mounted on the PS rack, then this is not it's connector, electrical unit mounted on PS rack is connected. This cable is a part of same harness - it joins with the harness a few inches from where the PS sensor cable branches off. It is not driverside O2 sensor, that connector is at top side of engine, near driverside firewall. This one is near ps pump.

Thanks thanks thanks for your help, I'll keep looking, and try to take a picture.

Heres what I suggest you do.

go here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM

Go to the FSM for the 94 Q (im about 95% sure its gonna be the same), and look for the harness.. GO to the EL section and go to the HARNESS LAYOUT section. Use the figures and tables to find it...

I think thats going to be the quickest/easiest way to find what you're looking for!

Take that 18" lead and run it up to about the level of the CAS. You should see an unused connector coming off the main engine harness about where it goes behind the plastic engine cover above the CAS.

I braved 64 degree winter NorCal weather to take this pic for you. It's looking down just forward of the PS fluid reservior.

Braver than me...

Picture this: The snow on my Q from the roof and the hood was completely level.. in other words, you couldnt really tell where the windshield was, there was an easy 2.5 FEET of snow on my car...

and that was just so i could go to ALDI to buy my groceries! at least now 2 months groceries ($70) dont cost as much as a tank of gas in the car!

Wes... is everything OK? $70 for two months of food at ALDI sounds like you're either going all Dave Ramsey on us (beans and rice, rice and beans) or you're looking for a job.

I've also got a 50 meal plan through the school's dining hall, so that takes care of a good portion of food too, especially lunch... So really $70 for 2 months is about 1-1.5 meals per day (I eat the other one on campus).
