The refreshed Lincoln MKS. Still looks like an economy car, now available with an awful face. It has a permanently surprised look, like an old woman who blew her retirement money on cosmetic surgery.

Good God.

That's actually so ugly, it evokes some weird primal response in me. I want to shriek and run away or smash it with my shoe.

(Since it's physically impossible for me to shriek, and I can't run for s***, that thing's getting the shoe).

In all seriousness, it's almost embarrassingly stupid-looking.

EDIT - I figured it out: Looks like a Galant with a high-pressure air nozzle pointed at its nostrils.

Yuk, add a couple of nonfunctional hood scoops and there's a Pontiac.

If possible, it looks even worse from the air:

All that hood needs is a nice thatch of pubes right at the bottom of the windshield.

If the MKS was half the car the LS is, it wouldn't matter how it looks. But it's not.

I also love the fact that it's 10 inches longer, 2 inches wider, and 5 inches taller, it is NO ROOMIER INSIDE. How do you make a car that's that huge and still has so little space inside?! I don't understand.
TEN INCHES LONGER! And no more legroom. WTF?!

The ugliest Pontiac EVER made, made uglier. The only one I've ever seen on the road was driven by a guy who looked to be about 70. I don't get it either.

I kept getting these ^ as rental cars from Hertz despite the fact that my profile requested sedans. The only thing worse than their looks was their performance. Or maybe their fit and finish. Or maybe their exhaust note. Or maybe their basic cockpit architecture.

That is the car that should be dangled in front of every single student studying automotive design as evidence of what NOT to do.

GM had to try three times with that car.

G6 was a flop.
Saturn Aura was a nice car with zero marketing muscle.
It finally stuck with the Malibu.

I really wanted to like the Aura, but for some reason it was just not built for my proportions. Everything was either slightly too far or too close compared to where I wanted it to be as I was sitting in the cockpit. I rented one of those and a prior-gen Hyundia Sonata alternating every week for a couple of months and the Aura was just awkward and stiff. I haven't driven the new Malibu but would like to.

Malibu does have some ingress/egress issues for tall people, but the interior is nicer. Unfortunately, the suspension is softer than the Aura, which I took to the Bonneville salt flats and had a surprisingly good time with.

I almost got the Malibu LTZ. Then I test drove my car, and was happier.

Fitting, considering that it weighs a little like one, too.
