ok will do,DeXteR wrote:Fuel injectors.
Get a multimeter and test the resistance across the injectors. Pull the plug and put the black probe on one terminal and the red probe on the other terminal. I'd bet you've got at least one of them out of spec.
haha i was right... what do i win?-RJ- wrote:

I put new gas in it and the check engine light is off now** my filter is less than 5 months old, could that have gone bad too?
It won't go bad that quick unless your gas tank is rusted or something.-RJ- wrote:

No, I was right. See, you shower your vert with a little attention and it gets over its jealousysileighty_stev0n wrote:

nah, most likely you had some bad gas w/ water or some other contaminent in that caused you car to run ****ty. in ky, the odds are rather high that you will get bad gas quite often. I get it in one of my vehicles at least once a month.
damn it silvia, good thing thats the only thing that gets insecure with meLoki wrote:No, I was right. See, you shower your vert with a little attention and it gets over its jealousy
How do you check this?edward08 wrote:Gas could be one problem but did u check the power transistor. it controls the coil if it goes bad it causes the car the run rough and run rich. the onlly problem is that it is a 150.00 dollar part. it is located next to the coil it has three wires that goes to it.
No .. Unfortunately not. I found out the the hard way. I kept my car stored for a few years. I found out after getting her running again that the fuel pump strainer was clogged. I replaced it. I started to have same problem. I looked inside tank and saw ton of brown in bottom. I put on the rubber gloves and scooped out a handful of rust...and another.. and another. Well I dropped the tank. Drained it out completely. Cleaned it as best I could and put everything back in. Well about 7 months later I checked it and replaced the fuel pump with a Walbro 255 and found only a slight amount of rust (yes cleaned it out using a pump style siphon). Replaced the strainer. Here is the problem and one you should look out for. The current gas available with ethanol is very corrosive. If you had an issue with rust before, the problem will only be worse with this gas. I would buy some extra rubber gaskets (one that goes around fuel pump access) and a few of the fuel pump strainers (Autozone sells them for about $12.00 or so). If I begin to hear my fuel pump whine, it usually means time for a strainer change. Hope this helps you out. Good luck with her. Some TLC never hurts too (with the car and the GF).-RJ- wrote:aren't our tanks plastic?
anyway i seafoamed the tank, replaced the filter and filled the tank up. car runs great now.
thanks guys
