My 240 sx starter is going bad. I looked to see how to remove it and it looks to be a big pain in the ***. Anyone have any experience with changing one? Thanks, Matt P.S. Nissan is not a Toyota or a Chevy? All cars suck when they need repair. kammakazi

I just replaced my starter with a MonkeyZone (AutoZone) rebuilt unit for $120. It is very easy to do, should take you no more than 30 minutes from beginning to end.

1. Jack up car, put passenger side on a jackstand. 2. Remove passenger side wheel/tire.3. Disconnect battery4. Disconnect connections from starter (3 of them, IIRC)5. Remove 2 bolts that connect starter to transmission/engine block6. Put in new starter

7. Do steps 5-1 in reverse order. Voila', you're done.
