I am trying to install Ubuntu 10.10 on a partition on my machine. This is as far as I have got, I can't figure out how to go "Forward" and the worst part about it is it seems that the thing is waiting for me!

Any help please?

I've had issues installing from a Live CD. I'm not sure why, but it has always worked better for me not to jump into the live environment. :gotme

Yeah I also tried to boot the iso with out "live environment" and got the say issue. Right now I am booting from a usb, should I try mounting the iso to a CD and try that?

What am I doing wrong here?

Have you ever tried the Wubi installer for Ubuntu? I've used it quite a few times and it works great, you can install, partition, and setup dual boot all from within Windows. If Windows isn't an option then i'd try mounting the ISO and see if that works.

Shouldn't be a problem installing from USB. The first time I installed on my netbook I booted from USB. Now I've been using an external CD drive. I've never messed with the Wubi installer though, as most of my Ubuntu installs are not dual boot.

Possible Solutions:
  • I will give Wubi installer a try.
    Or try using Ubuntu 10.04?
As of now I am running a partition of Vista 64 (legit) and a partition of Windows 7 (cracked). Would this be something worth noting?
