It's easier for you to watch the videos than it is for me to explain it.

It sound like and ecu issue. The computer is not getting the proper reading form the gas pedal and delaying the response to the throttle body.

With only 3K miles on your Versa I would recomned taking it to the dealer and having the ecu re-flashed, if that doesn't solve the problem the computer might have gone bad.

It has 30,600 miles and it's an 09 (this week is the 36 month since in service)

You can do your own ecu reset and see what it does. Try this below. I did it for my cube when my rpms were jumping and it fixed it and never came back.
Timing is not as critical with this method...no stop watch needed. Just count in your head...one-one thousand, two-one thousand, etc, or use stop watch. The most critical step is step #3....wait 10 sec, instead of 7.

1. Ignition "ON", count to 3. Do not start the car!
2. Depress/Release pedal 5 times...hard and fast.
3. Count to 10 (not 7!) and fully depress pedal
4. Count to 12 (SES should be blinking), release pedal
5. Count to 10, depress pedal
6. Count to 10, release pedal.
7. Turn off ignition, then start engine. Done!

This must be different than a cube because it didn't work.

I tried 5 times and hold the pedal for ten seconds, then I tried 5 and let off then back on for ten seconds, then I tried 5 and then hold for ten seconds and I just couldn't get it to do it.

I'm not sure I understand your response have you been changing the oil regularly at least every 7500 mile or has it not been serviced at all for 36 months?

If its the latter then your oil has turn to sludge in the engine and that would cause your problem, two solutions are possible: change the oil and filter run the engine to operating temps and change the oil and filter again to remove excess sludge, if that doesn't fix it it might need a new engine.

I hope that the latter hasn't happened because you will be out a lot of money to pay for an engine.

No I change the oil between 4k-5k with mobil one synthetic and purolator filter, the reason I wait that long is because it's mostly highway miles that I put on the vehicle so the oil isn't bad at 3750. What I was saying is that this week is the end of the 36 month warranty, it's been in service for 36 months is what i was saying.

I baby this car, I'm very picky about interior and the paint, the car is smooth as glass and has one of the best glows I've seen. No spider webs, swirl marks on the thing. I do know that I need to have the transmission flushed since I just rolled over 30k.

Actually the cvt trans is good for 60K between services. I'm glad to hear you take great care of your Versa.

I think the best thing to do is to take it to your area Nissan dealer and let them do a full diagnostic on the car, being that your are right at the cut of mark for your warranty they might still cover it under warranty. also the engine may have a longer period under warranty.

If it is the CVT your covered for 7 yrs. 125k miles so it might not be an out of pocket expense.

Hmm, should have worked for all Nissans. You turned the key two clicks?

Once you mess up you have to take the key out and start over. Who knows though, I got this from a frontier forum and it worked for the cube.

The CVT's warranty is 10 years/120,000 miles, whichever comes first.

I just watched your first video. Is your overdrive button on? I see the light on the dash.

With it on, you'll never get into higher gears, just rev the heck out of the car. It does the same with it off?

Yeah I was doing that as a test. I actually stated that it was off at the beginning.

I wasn't able to get the SES light to flash or anything but when I got home from work and tried again. No light flashing but it's no longer in safe mode.

well it's doing it again, When I got home I pulled the kick panel by the gas pedal and those silver pipes are extremely hot.

Your car should still be under warranty. Take it to the dealer and see what they say. I remember when I was stuck in snow once, the tires were just spinning and after a while, the car went into limp mode and only revved to 1500rpm, even when I floored it, it would't budge. I had to get it out of the snow and it went back to normal. I'm sure the car has some sort of limp home mode that they're probably stuck in.

turns out that the brake light switch was faulty. They replaced it and I'm all good; today on my way to class I hit a bump and BAM back to normal.

I had the exact same problem and told them it was the brake switch when I went in. I have seen several reports on the net with the same issue. I suspect it's a fault and they need to issue a recall for it. I hope they do and I can get reimbursed.
