sorry this just made me angry at ... well me, cant blame the stupid mechanic since the car wasnt mine when he worked on it.

So I took the turbo inlet pipe and a giant iron bolt fell out. I looked inside the compressor and there was oil and the wheel was just grinded to s***. That explains the knocking sound in the exhaust at low rpms. I already went ahead pulling the whole motor apart piece by piece to make sure there is no further damage... which there probably is. Ill have pics up when I get back from work.

Honestly... how does one lose a GIANT bolt inside the shortest part of the intake and not check for it.

doah! the upside is the metal shavings most likely get trapped in the intercooler andthing fine enough to pass through the intercooler was likely fine enough to pass through without causing further damage

oh if I run into one of those dudes, I will make them pay... or do donuts on their lawn :runover:. But for the most part, I think the #3 and #5 valves were burnt, cylinder 3 also had ceramic sparkplug debree... YEA the moron couldnt tighten the sparkplug and apparently got a piece of the exterior part chipped into the cylinder making little dings in the head of the piston!
that giant metal plug (not part of the motor either) was found in the intake raping the comp. wheel

ceramic pieces of the NGK went inside the cylinder

Since I am running a crossover fmic, the other turbo is fine and I shouldnt expect that kind of damage from the PS head, or so I am hoping. I think I found out why I had that weird Idle and rich problem now not NEARLY enough air in the DS bank

it must have happened during the motor swap because the maf had no damage, and there would be no possible way that thing would have made it through the pipes. What surprises me most is how did the spark plug get chipped on the outer side and make it IN to the cylinder (it was hand tight not even when I took it out). Im taking the block to be checked and rehoned and w.e. As for the heads, I need to replace 4 exhaust valves in the DS head, the others seem intact. Is it ok to reuse the piston if only the crown has some tiny etchings in it?

ok the other turbo is perfectly fine, that whole bank is totaly fine... half the engine almost went to s***... hopefully if there is damage then it is no more than oversized piston rings and couple of valves if that. Thinkin Ill have my car back in no more than two weeks. Crazed are you anywere near Northern Jerz or Queens NY? If so, Ill let you do the honors with the turbo and I can throw the GIANT nut (im not that strong), if we get caught blame is on me lol

How the f*** do you lose a GIANT bolt like that in an intake pipe? I put gloves/covers over the openings of every pipe the second I remove a hose.

I have one good turbo and one not so good turbo, in my classified ad. I forget which is good and which is not so good.
