I own a '94 U12 chassis has a little over 130k, motor is out of a 97 with a little over 75k.

The suspension (shock/strut) is completely useless, and driving in the car makes me feel like i am having a seizure. Recently the right front control arm in the car broke, i took it to nissan to have it repaired. among the laundry list of things wrong with the car when they checked it out were bad rear motor and trans mount, and they mentioned all 4 corners' suspension (i knew this already). The guy quoted me $580 for the rear suspension installed, and $670 for the front installed. I told him I didn't want to total out the car by replacing the struts.

My question is this; I was on ebay and searched "Altima suspension', and received results ranging from a set of Sprint (4) shocks struts and [lowering] springs for $269.00 [http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33582]

to tokico setup minus springs for about $320.00 [http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33590]

Having not wanted to spend ANY money on this car since i bought it, I have no experience buying or researching parts for it. But the aftermarket suspension pieces are WAY cheaper to purchase than the OEM replacements (almost $300 for front strut parts alone), and I would like to get this done on my own.

Any suggestions on what I should do, bad or good experience you've had, or general information is appreciated.

Okay, let me go back and edit my post to make it say U13...

Or, I could just thank you for a useless response.

I could also thank you for reminding me why i never post anything or ask any questions on this website - because it, and people like you, are useless.

his reply was not completely useless...don't mix chassis number.

getting back on topic:

go aftermarket. I've heard of ppl being unsatisfied with the sprint setup (blowing them almost immediately)..

If you want to keep the car fairly stock, I'd suggest just replacing the stock struts.. KYB-GR-2 is a decent buy over gabriels and such. Tokico seems better suited with higher rate springs with the heavier dampening.

Free up a day and DIY. It's a very straight forward job.
