Hey hows it goin, me and my friend were just doing a little work on his car (he has a sentra). We were putting underglow on and he did some work on the intake. Well, i was doing the wireing... all i did was put a wire on the positive battery terminal (with a ring connector), undid the ground connector on the battery so i didnt get shocked, took the positive wire i added from the battery, through the firewall to a switch, and then back out the firewall.

we only got the front one on so i crimped the ground and power together... power from the switch in the car and the positive lead on the bulb, and the negative i put a ring terminal on and screwed it into a screw on the strut well on the driver side that already had a ground ring on it. he also had a loose wire screwed in there so i crimped it into the same ring as the ground for the underglow. everything worked in his car except for the check engine light, which was on.

i know i didnt touch any main wires... but are there any ideas what could be occuring? any help would be awesome. Thank you.

his car is a 2005 Sentra Base if someone missed that in the title.

What code is it? Thread title says u1000, but no such code exists.

my friend said it was u1000... a generic problem where certain parts of the car aren't communicating with eachother. But he actually fixed it. he told me that it is a dormant code, so if its triggered and fixed, it still shows up, all you need to do is unplug the battery for a couple minutes and reset it. thanks any way guys.

Ahh yeah, I was about to suggest that you just clear the code and see if it comes back up.
