hey, i currently own a 2004 g35 coupe 6speed. I am having a issue with the car and the ECM. My car started to back fire and broke down on me. Had to replace all 6 coils, catalytic converter and ECM. My mechanic did all the work and also a programmer programmed the car. Had this problem twice and fixed it. Now I am getting a program where my car idles. also showing SES and when my mechanic checked it was saying U1000 and U1001 code. I am going to the check out with the infiniti dealer, but before that, i was wondering if any1 came across this issue b4. Your help would b very helpful. Thank you, Stephen

I think that is code for no connection. The ECU has conection trouble with other part of the car. Most likely with other sensors or modules.

Yea, "u" codes usually mean a network connection problem or module related problems.

Check and see if the harness is properly connected, and also the OBDII port.

no mods other then replacing the coils and spark plugs. I went to the dealer today and they cheacked my car out. they told me that the grounding wires needs to be cleaned up. soo many in the car and its about 3.0hr work. they also said that was the cause for misfire and communication error. hopefully from the clean up, the car should be good to go. :) $480cnd with dioginostic and labour

well if the grounding wires are not installed properly then that could be your culprit. that would be considered a "mod".

it would be odd that if you have had them in there a while and just started getting this problem.

stock grounding wires giving a problem... interesting... lots of people dont believe grounding effects how the G runs... perfect example of why every car i have owned has had upgrading grounding.

I hope cleaning those wires and surfaces fixes your car.

hey, i just got back from the dealer. they cleaned all the grounding wires and the U1001 code is still showing up. They replaced the ECM with the orginal 1 i had in the car and it actually went away. But unfortunally the car keeps to back fire. the dealer said the that cylinder #3 was not giving signal to the injectors. the problem could be ither the harness leading to the injector or the ECM. the are asking $590 just take the intake out and check the program.
